Measure across the usable flat INSIDE of the cap lid, leaving the rim and hinge clear—not across the scope tube or lens. The 2-inch PDF is an example, not a universal fit.

The starting template
Measure the space that is actually flat
Measure the inside area available for paper, not the outside of the cap or the scope lens. Leave clearance around the rim and hinge. Changing diameter units converts the measurement; it does not resize your chosen space.
Choose the rows you need
The template shown here and the downloadable blank Letter and A4 examples cover 200 through 1,000 yards. The builder lets you choose a different maximum distance and shows Range and Elevation with their units. More rows may require a larger measured cap. Choose Minimal for the most room for bold numbers, or Detailed to select Rifle, Load, Zero and Date fields to print. Unselected fields remain saved. Changing styles keeps your entries and measured diameter; additional details may require more space. At 1,500 and above, it uses two tables: read down the left, then down the right.
The size never grows automatically. If the rows or headings will not fit legibly, the builder blocks printing and shows the minimum template diameter. Apply that size only if your measured cap can accommodate it. Your entered text is checked separately.
If the measured cap cannot hold your rows legibly, use fewer rows or try a stock card or arm-board card. Compare all six blank PDF formats.
Enter your own records
Preset rows and manual ranges retain separate entries. The builder does not calculate elevation or convert recorded values when you change angular or distance labels. Use the records and units you intend to print.
Print on 2-inch round thermal labels
Use the builder to create a label-sized document. Selecting a Rollo printer alone does not turn a Letter or A4 PDF into a label PDF.
- Customize your scope-cap card. Enter the usable inside diameter you measured, choose your rows and check that the card fits legibly. Your measured size must fit both the cap and the selected label layout.
- Choose Download PDF or Print / Save as PDF. Under Print on, select Thermal label printer (Rollo), then choose 2 in round · scope cap under Label size loaded.
- Set the quantity and check the preview. A fitting card uses one 2-inch round label per card; three cards use three labels. Download the label PDF or continue to Print.
- In your printer dialog, choose the loaded 2 × 2-inch media for 2-inch round labels, 100% / Actual size, Margins: None, headers and footers off, and Copies: 1. Start with one test label and measure the result.
If your measured card does not fit the selected label, choose larger media or paper that fits it; do not shrink the print to force a fit. Printer alignment, readable type and clearance still need a physical check. See calibration and printing help.
Test before fitting
Download the blank 1,000-yard example on Letter or A4. Print at actual size, measure the scale, and try plain paper in the lid before cutting a laminated version. Our images illustrate placement; physical fit has not been verified. See the printing guide.
